Abstract:

This study analyzes aspects of maternal and child carethe perspective of primary care teams (eAB) in Roraima, Northern Region and Brazil in the years 2012, 2014 and 2017. Using datathe National Program for Improving Access and Quality of Primary Care (PMAQ-AB) and e-Gestor AB, in a cross-sectional, retrospective and analytical study. The theoretical approach is based on the importance of multiprofessional and shared care to reduce inadequacies in prenatal care and child development up to the age of 2. The results show that, according to the perception of the PCTs, various aspects of management showed progressive improvement over the three cycles of PMAQ, in all areas studied, including an improvement in the definition of the area covered by the teams and a reduction in the uncovered population. It is noteworthy that aspects related to the evaluation of care for pregnant and postpartum women showed more difficulties in terms of longitudinal measurement and lower levels of results compared to those for children under 2 years of age. In addition, none of the 23 items on antenatal care and assistance in PC showed a significant decrease in 2017 compared to 2012. The results of this study suggest that PHC is gradually strengthening its care processes throughout the country, thereby improving the quality of maternal and child care.
